Here at Ramirez Intermediate, we utilize composition books to house and contain all of the work and assignments that we complete in the classroom. At the beginning of the year, students are given two notebooks.
SNB (Science Notebook)
Daily assignments, notes, lab reports, and other activities are kept within this notebook. Students should bring this notebook every single day! There are no exceptions. The SNB serves as an ongoing project that students utilize as a review/study tool on a daily basis. All work is taped/attached to the pages within this book.
DSJ (Daily Science Journal)
At the beginning of each period, we utilize the DSJ to review information from both current and past subject matter. The DSJ is typically completed in the form of a five sentence paragraph. Each sentence in the paragraph is typically an answer to a question I have on the board for the students to complete.
Parents, you can easily stay up to date on what we are discussing in class by asking to see your child's SNB and DSJ notebooks.
