At Dr. Augustine Ramirez Intermediate School, our primary goal is to provide equitable access to a high-quality education while rapidly reinforcing language proficiency. We take immense pride in offering a comprehensive English Learner (EL) program that balances academic excellence with functional life skills, ensuring our students master the English language while thriving academically.

Across all subjects, our classrooms utilize targeted instructional strategies designed to support every student's unique journey. Whether a student requires differentiated learning accommodations, specific English language support, or general academic scaffolding, our staff is equipped to help them make consistent progress and achieve full English language proficiency.

English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a school-site committee composed of parents, legal guardians, and staff. ELAC plays a vital role in our school community by advising school administrators and staff on programs, services, and academic progress for English Learners.

• Who Needs an ELAC? By law, each school site with 21 or more English Learner students must establish a functioning ELAC.

District-Level Support (DELAC)

The District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) is comprised of parents, staff, and community members from across the district. DELAC advises district officials on English Learner programs, services, and district-wide initiatives.
